Is GridTrade really free?
Yes. GridTrade is free to use — every feature is included for everyone, with no credit card, no subscription and no paid tier. There is no trial that runs out and nothing to cancel: you sign up with your email and start journaling right away in the web app. Free means the full product, not a stripped-down version. You get unlimited trades and screenshots, per-trade emotion tracking on a 1–5 scale, all 9 combinable filters, the setup playbook with live win rate and expectancy, the calendar view with daily and weekly P&L, and as many accounts as you want for FTMO, Apex, Topstep or your own capital. CSV import and cross-device sync are included as well. Your data stays on GDPR-compliant EU servers, and you can export it at any time. If we ever introduce a paid plan (around €20/month), we will announce it well in advance and never charge anything automatically.
Where is my data stored?
On German servers (Hetzner Frankfurt + Supabase EU). GDPR-compliant, with row-level security per user. Nobody but you has access to your trades — not even us.
Is there a subscription to cancel?
No. GridTrade has no subscription, no contract and no notice period, so there is nothing to cancel and no payment details are ever stored. You never enter a credit card, which means nothing can be charged by accident when you stop using it. If you take a break from trading, simply stop logging — your account, trades, screenshots and statistics stay exactly where you left them, and you can pick up again whenever you want. If you would rather leave for good, you can delete your account yourself in the account settings, which removes your account and journal data. Before that, you can export your data so nothing is lost if you move to another journal or back to a spreadsheet. We think a trading journal should earn its place by being useful, not through lock-in, and that is why GridTrade keeps leaving just as simple as getting started.
Does it work for crypto / forex / futures?
Yes, asset-agnostic. Add custom tickers with tick value + tick size — GridTrade calculates PnL and R automatically, whether it's NQ, BTC, EUR/USD or stocks. Multiple accounts in parallel (e.g. funded + live) also supported.
Do I need a broker API connection?
No. You enter trades manually — on purpose. That's not a bug, it's a feature: manual entry forces reflection. Auto-import kills the very thing a journal is for.
What sets GridTrade apart from Edgewonk / Tradervue?
Three things: combinable filters (9 dimensions at once — Edgewonk doesn't filter that precisely), per-trade emotion tracking (Tradervue lacks it entirely), and multi-account support for funded-account traders. Plus: GridTrade is free, compared with €169 for Tradervue Pro.

Why we built GridTrade.

GridTrade started as the journal I built for my own funded-account trading — nothing out there tracked emotions, and Excel kept falling apart. Today Luca and I trade with it every single day. Every feature exists because one of us needed it after a real session, not because a roadmap said so. That's also why updates ship almost weekly.
